Street Skills team consists of two artists. Their names are Gleb and Yan. They are both street artists from Belarus, who have spent several years touring the world and create works of different famous people including musicians. The team is young, but they have already managed to take part in large art projects.

Hey Gleb and Yan, today you will talk with Music on Walls about five of your artworks that were inspired by music.

Can you start by telling MoW why you chose to create artworks inspired by music?

Music is an inspiration for us. All our works present musician,who made an enormous contribution to the development of musical culture.These people have influenced our personal musical tastes. So, they were close to us as heroes for our paintings.

Would you say there is a specific music that inspired your artworks?

Certainly, each of them has at least one song that inspired us to create portraits. For example, it's "Voodoo Child" by Jimi Hendrix. "All You Need Is Love" (The Beatles) by John Lennon. "Billy Jean" by Michael Jackson.

It's more than a dozen songs by BB King. The same thing with the hip-hop scene Snoop Dogg and Dr.Dre.

Do you have a favorite piece between the ones presented today?

The favorite work is a portrait of Jimi Hendrix. We passed 3D effect of the guitar neck coming out of the frame. Quite effectively turned.

It`s difficult to say about favorite work. We develop and learn constantly, so, the criticism to ourself as artists increases,. Time passes and we like old work less than the new ones. Perhaps, it's common to all artists. There is no limit to perfection.

Can you tell Mow more about your techniques and how long does it takes you to make an artwork?

Before we had about 3 days to perform the same work, but now the level of our skills grew and we deal with it in 10 hours. Obviously, it all depends on size of works and numbers of portraits in works.

Why is music important to you, in your life and in your art?

The music is really important in our life. Music allows you to escape from every day worries and immerse oneself in the world of music and sounds. Music relaxes, inspires, energizes and motivates to actions. Perhaps, music is one of the greatest achievements of mankind. It has the incredible power of influence on a person and its feeling.

Do you listen to music when you're working? What is the kind of music you would listen to ?

Certainly. In the initial stages of preparing walls for paintings. Music allows you to focus on the creation of new works, to plunge into the atmosphere necessary for this. It gives us energy and improves our mood. But there are moments when we need to paint without music, we need to discuss the details. But on every occasion we work with music in the ears.

We can't say that we love one specific musical direction. In the world there are so many wonderful musicians, who play good tracks. Nowadays the variety of musical direction allows us to choose track depending on our mood. For us, music as street art is not only art, but whole life.

What is the song you liked the most lately?

It's difficult to say. It is difficult to choose one song especially now as we prefer instrumental music. Each of us has got one hundreds favorite songs on player. These songs we listen every day when walking down the street ,moving in transport or sitting at home.
