Shepard Fairey created a new new print in honor of Interpol’s latest show in New York at Madison Square Garden.
I think that art and music together are even more powerful than either individually! – Shepard
Interpol is one of Shepard Fairey’s favorite bands. He has been lucky enough to collaborate with them throughout the years. His first introduction to them was when backstage at Coachella and he offered to create art for them if they ever needed it… to his surprise, they knew his work already and decided to take me up on his offer.
Their first project together was in 2004 when Shepard created art for the follow up to their debut album, “Antics.” (see right)
Ten years later in 2014, he was approached with another opportunity to not only create a print but also to paint a mural for their fifth studio album, “El Pintor.” (see left)
