Aura - Céleste Boursier-Mougenot
/Mac Lyon just acquired the work "Aura" by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot.
All of Céleste Boursier-Mougenot's work focuses on listening to what he calls "live sound shapes" generated by random devices, most of the time connected to the space around us. For the Biennale, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot reinterprets, in the musical sense of the term, a work of 2013, for which water dropped by cosmic rays hit a drum kit. In Lyon, with Aura, the artist takes again the device of the drums but these are cherry's stones that come to hit the strained skins of the musical instrument, this time from the electromagnetic aura of each possessor of mobile device visiting the Sucrière. The sound produced by the fall of stones is therefore random, and conceals the grip of the tiny and immaterial movements that saturate our world of plethoric communication
