URBAN ART COLLECTION
NICOLAS LAUGERO LASSERRE
ART 42 is the first museum of urban art in France. Representing 50 artists and 150 works on a surface of 4000 m2, the museum is free and open to public.
The opening of ART 42 is scheduled for the Nuit Blanche 2016, on October 1st.
150 works are gathered in one place forming the first free and permanent museum of street art in France. In the heart of 42, a school of computer sciences founded by Xavier Niel, in the seventeenth arrondissement of Paris.
This place became an hybrid welcoming place for the first permanent exhibition of street art in France with the project Art 42. The DNA of urban art is to break the codes. The works are as atypical as this unique space. By presenting a urban art collection in this unexpected place, Nicolas Laugero Lasserre creates a bridge between the world of street art and the museum's world.
42 is among the most innovative computer sciences' school in Europe, the school is free and offers great freedom to student projects. It has become obvious that 42 would accommodate such an audacious art collection. Yet down to the very idea of the museum, by its nature and its architecture, 42 offers major urban art showcase. This place, witnesses the many passages and rhythm of the students, which undoubtedly evokes the street.
